Here are solid wood samples to allow you to make a more informed choice of wood species for your Clara library. These are optional but will help you better visualize the grain of the wood and how it works in your home.

You can choose between 2 types of wood or 4.

BLACK WALNUT is a very dark and rich wood with a wide variety of brown tones.
THE SUGAR MAPLE is the palest of choices, with a subtle grain but there are some grayer sections.
RED OAK is a reddish wood with a very distinctive grain and lines with quite varied hues.
CHERRY is also a reddish wood with a more subtle and uniform grain which darkens over time. You should expect to find dark spots scattered on the wood, as you can see in the photo.

Keep in mind that wood is a natural and sometimes unpredictable material. There may therefore be differences between the samples and the finished furniture.

Delivery and returns

DELIVERY

Packages are processed in 3-5 business days and are delivered with Canpar or UPS in Canada and the United States *.

All made-to-measure orders are delivered within 1-2 weeks.

CLARA shelves are produced in 3-4 weeks.

All of our shelves come in 100% recyclable, plastic-free packaging.

RETURNS

Returns and exchanges are accepted within 30 days of receipt of the package.

Cancellations are only possible within one hour of placing the order.

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged: custom products and CLARA wall shelves.

The return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyers. If the returned item is not in the original condition, any loss in value is the buyer's responsibility.

FAQ

HOW TO CHOOSE THE ESSENCE OF WOOD Black walnut has a warm, rich dark brown shade with paler variations. Sugar maple is the palest wood with a very subtle grain and slight more grayish variations. Red Oak is a pale russet wood with a very noticeable open grain that provides superb texture. Cherry is a bit more reddish, with a more subtle wood grain that darkens over time to a rich shade.

You can get samples of the different wood species which will be refunded to you when you buy a shelf.

HOW TO MAINTAIN

We apply a non-toxic, biodegradable finish suitable for moderate use. If the surface is damaged, most undyed wiping oils can be applied over (no varnish). Clean with a clean, soft cloth free from cleaning products and abrasives.
